Fundy Nationals 2013-14

The team was presented with their new jerseys this week. As the inaugural team, the players will be the first to wear the Nationals jersey.

The Nationals have selected their captain for the inaugural season. Katelynn Nice has been selected as the captain of the team. Katelynn is a highly skilled hockey player who brings leadership, motivation, tenacity and passion to every game and team event.

The assistant captains bring positive energy to the team as well and will support Katelynn in her role. Assistant captains are Becca Ring, Maddy Murray & Natalie Sharp.

The Fundy Nationals look to build on a weekend win over the Fredericton V-Reds as both teams participated in World Girls Hockey Weekend. The Nationals dropped the V-Reds by a score of 3 -1 as both teams played in support of Girls Hockey that featured continuous games from coast to coast. The Lady Nat’s opened the season with two losses and now look to break in to the win column in the NBFMHL (New Brunswick Female Midget AAA Hockey League).

The Fundy Nationals and the Fredericton V-Reds will do battle once again on Friday night at the LBR in Saint John with game time set for 8:45. On Sunday the Nationals will host the Moncton Rockets at the
qplex in Quispamsis with puck drop at 4:45.

The Nationals represent the region between St. Stephen to Sussex in the New Brunswick Female AAA Hockey League. The Fundy Nationals are premier female developmental hockey program within the Southern New Brunswick region.

Registration forms should be submitted by Thursday, August 15th.

The newly formed Fundy Female Midget AAA hockey team will begin tryouts for the 2013-14 season on August 18th. The team will play in the NB Midget AAA Female Hockey League. Girls from Sussex to St Stephen born 1996-1998 are eligible to play.

The Saint John Major Midget Vito’s are excited to offer their First Annual Women’s Elite Summer Development Camp. The Major Midget Staff will join forces with prominent Female Coaches Maryelle Hannam and Emilie Arseneault to lead an intensive 4-day development camp. Players will be pushed both on and off ice to learn and refine skills and tactics as well as prepare for the upcoming season.

The Development Camp will focus on:
· Skills in Combination
· Transitional play
· Position specific skills and tactics
· Competing at the next level

The Camp will consist of two age categories:
· Group 1 – 1999/2000 players who will be playing Bantam during the 2013-14 Season
· Group 2- 1996/1997/1998 players who will be playing Midget during the 2013-14 Season

Camp Information/logistics:
· Camp runs August 8 – August 11, 2013
· Each Player will receive a minimum 2 hours on ice and 1 off ice hour per day
· All sessions will take place at the qplex
· Each player will receive a Vito’s T-Shirt and Jersey
· Cost of the clinic is $300 per player

Please note that the Development Camp has limited enrollment and will be on a first come first serve basis. We expect to be at capacity so we encourage you to apply early by registering online under the “Registration” tab at www.saintjohnvitosmajormidget.com. Registration and payment are due by July 31st, 2013.
